Privacy Policy
Effective July 12, 2026. The short version: your golf data is yours, we don't sell it or share it with advertisers, and you can delete it anytime from the Profile tab in the app.
Who we are
Data Driven Golf ("we") is a strokes gained tracking app available on the web at www.datadriven.golf and as an iOS app. Questions about this policy or your data: drew@datadriven.golf.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address, a display name you choose, and your handicap index.
- Golf data: the rounds, holes, and shots you enter (courses, tees, lies, distances) and the statistics computed from them. Courses you add manually or import are also stored.
- Location (optional): if you use "Nearby Me" course search, your device asks for permission and your coordinates are used for that one search. We don't track your location in the background or store a location history.
- Usage analytics: anonymous page-view analytics on the web app (Vercel Analytics). No advertising trackers, no cross-site tracking.
How we use it
- To run the product: store your rounds, compute strokes gained, and show your stats and charts.
- To email you: account emails (welcome, round reminders) and occasional product updates. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing is honored across all non-essential email.
- AI round summaries: if you request one, your round's statistics are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the summary text. API data is not used to train their models.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider). The website is hosted on Vercel, and email is delivered via Resend. These providers process data on our behalf; none of them are permitted to use it for their own purposes.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
- We don't share your data with advertisers, and the app contains no ads.
- We don't post anything publicly without your action.
Sharing controls
Your rounds are private by default. Two features share data, both opt-in and both revocable:
- Public share links: flipping the Public Link toggle on a round creates a read-only URL anyone with the link can view. Turn the toggle off to disable it.
- Friends: adding a friend by email gives that person read-only access to your rounds and stats. Remove the friend to revoke access.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage for your sign-in session and for offline round entry (so shots you enter without a signal sync later). No third-party advertising cookies.
Deleting your data
Email drew@datadriven.golf from your account address and we'll delete your account and all associated data, typically within a few days.
Children
Data Driven Golf is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and note it in the app or by email. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version.
